Recently Al DeCesaris was contacted by Rosanna, the mother of Vida, a Sturge-Weber Syndrome (SWS) child whose life was tragically cut short by this terrible disease. Rosanna decided she wanted to do something to honor her daughter and to help others with SWS. On Vida’s birthday, Rosanna asked her friends and family to make a donation to fight SWS. Inspired by Rosanna’s love and strength, Vida’s birthday celebration raised $940, which will fund the medical research of Dr. Anne Comi at the Hunter Nelson Sturge-Weber Center at Kennedy Krieger Institute. It’s truly inspiring how Rosanna is celebrating and honoring Vida’s life, and through her love for her daughter helping others.
“I want to thank my family and friends for coming to the twins’ birthday party, and donating for this special cause in the name of Vida. She is very special to all of us, and even though she’s no longer with us we will always keep her memory alive. We’re all in this together and every little bit helps.” -Rosanna
